Top Industry Practice Award Based on the Use of InStep's PRiSM Online Condition Monitoring Software

CHICAGO, June 3  /PRNewswire/ -- InStep Software LLC, a leading provider of real-time software systems and solutions, announced today that InStep has teamed with the Exelon Corporation to win the 2008 nuclear reliability Top Industry Practice ("TIP") award for excellence.  The award is based on the results achieved by Exelon from their use of InStep's PRiSM software for Centralized Performance Monitoring.

InStep's PRiSM technology monitors Exelon's entire fleet of nuclear assets to provide advanced early warning notification of potential equipment problems or failure.  With 500 deployed plant equipment computer models Exelon achieved over $500,000 in avoided equipment and production losses in the first two months of operation.  PRiSM uses advanced cluster based reasoning to identify process variations that would be virtually impossible to detect otherwise. The PRiSM software seamlessly integrates with Exelon's existing historian infrastructure for reliable and secure access to the plant information.
