BOSTON, June 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Trustees of Eaton Vance Floating-Rate Income Trust (NYSE:EFT), Eaton Vance Senior Floating-Rate Trust (NYSE:EFR) and Eaton Vance Senior Income Trust (NYSE:EVF), each a diversified closed-end investment company (collectively, the "Trusts" and each a "Trust"), have approved a clarification of the Trusts' investment policies with respect to investments in equity securities. Under normal market conditions, each Trust invests at least 80% of its total assets in senior, secured floating-rate loans ("Senior Loans"). The remaining investment assets of each Trust may include, among other types of investments, equity securities that are: (1) in the case of Floating-Rate Income Trust and Senior Floating-Rate Trust, issued by a borrower of a Senior Loan in which the Trust invests (or such borrower's affiliates) as part of a package of investments in the borrower or its affiliates; or (2) in the case of Senior Income Trust, acquired in connection with an investment in a Senior Loan. Each Trust may accept equity securities in connection with a debt restructuring or reorganization of a borrower either inside or outside of bankruptcy. The clarification provides that if a Trust holds equity securities issued in exchange for a Senior Loan or issued in connection with the debt restructuring or reorganization of a borrower, the Trust may acquire additional equity securities of such borrower (or such borrower's affiliates) if, in the judgment of the investment adviser, such an investment may enhance the value of a Senior Loan held or would otherwise be consistent with the Trust's investment policies. The Trusts are managed by Eaton Vance Management, a subsidiary of Eaton Vance Corp. (NYSE:EV), one of the oldest investment management firms in the United States, with a history dating back to 1924. Eaton Vance and its affiliates managed $127.2 billion in assets as of April 30, 2009, offering individuals and institutions a broad array of investment products and wealth management solutions. The Company's long record of providing exemplary service and attractive returns through a variety of market conditions has made Eaton Vance the investment manager of choice for many of today's most discerning investors.
