Univision Radio, a division of Univision Communications Inc. (NYSE:UVN)
and the leading Spanish-language radio broadcaster in the United States,
announced today that its heritage Spanish-language radio stations KLVE
and KSCA, two prominent and long standing stations in the community,
have ascended to the #1 and #2 positions in the competitive Los Angeles
radio market, according to the recently released Summer 2006 Arbitron
book.
Regardless of language, KLVE (K-Love 107.5), Univision Radio’s
Spanish adult contemporary station in LA, is ranked #1 with a 5.0 share
of the total week 12+ audience. Ranked #2, KSCA (La Nueva 101.9),
Univision’s regional Mexican format station in
LA, garnered a 4.9 share.
KLVE and KSCA also held the top two positions among Adults 25-54 for the
total week; KLVE is #1 with a 6.0 share and KSCA #2 with a 5.9 share.
This is the first time since the Arbitron Winter 2001 ratings book that
KLVE and KSCA have occupied the top two rankings in the LA radio market.
Leading the entire Los Angeles market in morning drive, KSCA’s
Eddie “Piolín”
Sotelo earned a 7.2 share of morning listening. “Piolín
Por La Mañana” is
also #1 in every major adult demographic, including Adults 25-54 and
Adults 18-34.
In total, Univision Radio holds the #1 position in three out of the
four-daypart segments between 6am and midnight with either KLVE or KSCA.
