Univision (NYSE:UVN)
Historical Stock Chart
From May 2019 to May 2024
(NYSE:UVN) — With one day to go, Galavisión,
the nation’s #1 Spanish-language cable
network, delivered its strongest sweep performance ever in the network’s
history in Total Day and Primetime among Hispanic Adults 18-34 and 18-49
during the 2007 February period.
Galavisión has long been well established as
the most widely distributed and nation’s
leading Spanish-language cable network, and it continues to enjoy
impressive growth. During the 2007 February sweep period, Galavisión
achieved significant audience growth from last year among all major
demos in all key dayparts. Notably, the audience for Hispanic Adults
18-49 grew +23% in Total Day and +28% in Primetime.
“We are thrilled with this record-breaking
performance in our network’s history,”
said Joanne Lynch, Galavisión’s
Senior Vice President and General Manager. “The
2007 Nations Cup was an integral part of this outstanding growth in
audience levels and our ability to deliver broadcast-like numbers. This
achievement demonstrates our commitment and promise to deliver the news,
sports and entertainment that matter most to our loyal viewers.”
Galavisión brought soccer fans exclusive
coverage of the UNCAF Nations Cup 2007 soccer tournament. Airing in
February, the tournament was the Network’s 2nd
highest rated soccer event ever achieving astonishing triple-digit
increases from the most recent 2005 tournament among Hispanic Men 18–49
(+142%) and 18-34 (+116%), and Hispanic Adults 18-49 (+150%) and 18-34
(+155%). This year’s UNCAF Nations Cup easily
delivered more than double the audience of Spanish-language broadcast
network Telemundo’s soccer events - “Fútbol
Telemundo” and “Sábado
de Fútbol.”
Additionally, Galavisión toppled all eight
soccer events airing on FOX Sports en Español
in February, including their best-rated Interliga event.
The February 3, 2007 launch of “Decorando
Contigo” (Decorating With You), the network’s
first home decorating program, contributed to Galavisión’s
extraordinary success this sweep period. Viewership among Hispanic
Adults 18-49 increased in the time period by +138%. Peruvian television
personality Domenica Brazzi hosts and is joined by Florida-based
interior designer Juan Poggi, whose work has been highlighted in several
interior design magazines such as Florida Design and Miami
Home. “Decorando Contigo”
airs Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00-11:30am.
Launching in November 2006, “Delicioso”
(Delicious), the network’s dynamic cooking
and lifestyle show hosted by Colombian chef Ingrid Hoffmann, was also
instrumental in Galavisión’s
successful performance. “Delicioso”
has consistently delivered impressive audience gains and is up a
remarkable +189% among Hispanic Adults 18-49 versus the same time period
last February. The show airs Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30am –
12:00pm.
Additionally, Galavisión outdelivered the
audience of Spanish-language broadcast network Azteca in all key
dayparts among Hispanic Adults 18-49.
