Annual Benefit Gala Raises $6.0 Million for The Toys 'R' Us

WAYNE, N.J., April 14  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Leaders from the toy and baby
products industries gathered last night in New York for a joy-filled evening to
support the Toys "R" Us Children's Fund, Inc. The 20th annual gala raised $6.0
million for the fund, which provides financial resources to children's
charities and organizations across the country.  The evening featured a live
performance by multi- GRAMMY(R) award-winning recording artist and songwriter
Michael McDonald and a special guest appearance by GRAMMY(R) nominated artists
Ashford and Simpson. A highlight of the evening was a spirited auction led by
the indomitable Rosie O'Donnell.

"Each year, our benefit gala brings together industry leaders who share our
commitment to raising funds to assist charities that aid and serve children's

Since it was founded in 1992, The Toys "R" Us Children's Fund, Inc. has donated
millions of dollars every year to organizations and charities that support the
health and well-being of children. This year, money raised through The Toys "R"
Us Children's Fund, Inc. will benefit more than 50 charities and organizations
nationwide, including the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation and The
Marine Toys For Tots Foundation.  Funds raised through the Toys "R" Us
Children's Fund, Inc. also support The Starlight Starbright Children's
Foundation in creating state-of-the-art playrooms in medical settings across
the country.
