--Tiffany & Co. (TIF) said it wanted suitor LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE to raise the size of its acquisition offer, Reuters reports Wednesday, citing "people familiar with the matter."
--Tiffany's board decided LMVH's $14.5 billion all-cash offer wasn't large enough to serve as a basis for talks, the report said.
--Tiffany's said based on a higher offer it would allow LVMH the opportunity to examine its books and would provide confidential due diligence, the report said.
--Neither company immediately responded to a request for comment, the report said.
