“Jim is one of our top performers in commercial banking, and his leadership and professionalism have helped him build a team of experts in Illinois and Wisconsin who continuously exceed the needs of our customers and generously give back to our communities,” said Trish Kelly, president at TCF Commercial Banking. “Jim helps our customers’ businesses grow because he pays close attention to their needs and helps them meet the ever-changing demands of the economy, the commercial real estate market and the regulatory environment. He is an asset to our customers and to our company, and we are pleased that the industry is recognizing Jim by inducting him into the hall of fame.”

Pape joined TCF Commercial Banking three years ago and brings 30 years of banking experience to the role, with 25 of those years focused on commercial real estate financing. He values building trusting relationships with his customers and with his team members and that approach has helped his team close $1 billion in real estate financing commitments.

Pape also models the commitment of TCF team members to improving the communities where they live and work. He cofounded and chairs the Fenwick (Ill.) Business Council and serves on the economic development committee for Elmwood Park, Illinois. He is the past president of the Sheridan Carrol Food Pantry in Chicago and a former board member for the St. Vincent Ferrer School in River Forest, Illinois. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, International Council of Shopping Centers, and a former member of the Homebuilders Association.
