CompUSA, a subsidiary of Systemax, Inc. (NYSE: SYX) announced today that it has given its business-to-business (“B2B”) marketing efforts a considerable boost with the addition of a 35-person team of sales executives, with deep B2B sales experience, to be based in brand new, dedicated CompUSA offices in Boise, Idaho and Sioux City, South Dakota, giving the company a new strategic foothold in the West and Midwest.

“This new business-to-business marketing force is a reflection of our strong position and our long-term strategic expansion plans,” said Gilbert Fiorentino, Chief Executive of the Technology Products Group at Systemax, which includes CompUSA. “We plan to hit the ground running with this new team of seasoned professionals, with an average of 10-14 years of experience in the industry. They are the best in the business and will assist in expanding our B2B sales efforts.”

The team in Boise, Idaho, will be focused mainly on securing government and enterprise accounts, while the team in Sioux City, South Dakota will target small- to medium-size businesses. The recruits were formerly with MPC, which had acquired the corporate sales business of Gateway.

“This is a very significant step for us and we expect it will drive considerable sales volume,” added Fiorentino. “We hope that it can also be a first big step in the West and Midwest, toward further operational expansion in these regions in the future.”
