Sybase iAnywhere continues its long-standing commitment and early
release of .NET enhancements, announcing today delivery on its promise
to support ADO.NET Entity Framework and LINQ to Entities. .NET
developers can download the SQL Anywhere®
Entity Framework and ADO.NET 3.5 provider by registering for the SQL
Anywhere 11 beta.
SQL Anywhere, with over 10 million deployed licenses and powering
thousands of embedded and mobile database applications, is enabling .NET
application developers to remove complexity and increase productivity by
using .NET objects and IntelliSense. Developers can use the Entity Data
Model Designer to define a stable, secure object database layer for
their Windows and ASP.NET applications, avoiding SQL statements, complex
joins, and parameter binding.
“SQL Anywhere is dedicated to ensuring the
.NET developer community is able to build the sophisticated,
high-performing applications expected by today’s
users. By incorporating support for ADO.NET Entity Framework, SQL
Anywhere is the must-look alternative for .NET database development,”
said Chris Kleisath, Senior Director, Engineering, Sybase iAnywhere.
“We use SQL Anywhere to build configurable
database-powered mobile applications that are deployed in large-scale
enterprise environments. We are consistently impressed by SQL Anywhere
support for the .NET platform, and are excited about the productivity
and robustness of Entity Framework,” said
Mark Botticelli, Vice President of Engineering, Trimble Mobile Resource
Management, Mobile Worker Solutions.
SQL Anywhere is the choice of .NET developers who are looking for a
single database product that has enterprise-caliber features and easily
scales from Windows Mobile to Windows Server platforms. SQL Anywhere 11
provides several new key features for .NET developers:
Entity Framework and LINQ support
ADO.NET 3.5 Provider
Visual Studio 2008 Integration
.NET CLR stored procedures
Integrated full-text search and regular expression search
SQL Anywhere 11 general availability is currently scheduled for July
2008. For more information on SQL Anywhere 11 and its support for Entity
