Safaricom, the number one operator in its market with over 12 million subscribers, is the latest leading operator to sign an agreement with Sybase 365 for International SMS inter-operator services. “Safaricom’s focus remains on offering an unparalleled quality service to our subscribers and continuing to improve on our coverage country wide,” said Michael Joseph CEO, Safaricom Limited. “Sybase 365’s global operator network and its high reliability combine to make it a perfect choice for our company.” Sybase 365 today provides two-way international SMS to more than 250 million African subscribers, an increase of almost 40 percent vs. last year, and is currently connected to 121 of the 130 active mobile operators in the region, with a total two-way network of 111 directly connected operators.
