Syniverse to Support Cox Communications’ Mobile Network

Expanding on an existing relationship with one of the largest cable operators in North America, Syniverse Technologies (NYSE:SVR) was selected by Cox Communications to support the operator’s CDMA mobile voice network. With this new deal, Syniverse will provide a broad suite of mobile messaging, roaming and network solutions. Syniverse also will continue to support Cox’s SS7 class services.

This win highlights a growing trend of cable operators and other new entrants to mobile, such as Internet, VoIP and application service providers, turning to Syniverse in support of new mobile offerings, according to Alfred de Cárdenas, Executive Vice President, Americas, Syniverse.

A pair of Syniverse NEXTSM messaging solutions, SMS Interworking Gateway (SMS-IG) and MMS Interworking Gateway (MMS-IG), provide subscribers with seamless text and multimedia messaging to users on other networks.

For roaming, Syniverse’s Data Clearing House for CDMA – ACCESS® and Financial Settlement Services ensure a comprehensive, end-to-end clearing process. In addition, 1xRTT/EV-DO delivers high-speed mobile data roaming, while Visibility® Services enable operators to work faster and smarter by providing near real-time data about inbound and outbound roamers.
