Syniverse Technologies
(NYSE:SVR), a leading provider of technology and business solutions for
the global telecommunications industry, announced today that GTCR Golder
Rauner LLC (GTCR) investment funds distributed 6 million shares of
Syniverse common stock to the funds' limited partners and certain of the
funds' affiliates. GTCR is a Chicago-based private equity investment
firm that partnered with Syniverse’s
management team to acquire the company from Verizon Communications Inc.
in 2002.
Following the distribution, affiliates of GTCR will continue to own
approximately 4.9 million shares of Syniverse’s
common stock, or about 7.1 percent of the company’s
current outstanding shares.
Syniverse stated that neither this distribution nor any future
distribution of shares by affiliates of GTCR will have any effect upon
the total number of shares outstanding.
Syniverse shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “SVR.”
