Sté phane Boujnah Nominated As Euronext CEO

PARIS—Stock-market operator Euronext on Thursday said it would appoint a Santander executive as chief executive, ending a search that began in April.

Sté phane Boujnah, 51, joins Euronext from Santander Global Banking and Markets where he has been Head of Continental Europe since June 2014. He is expected to start in his new role in November after a shareholder meeting to approve his appointment.

The appointment ends a search to find a permanent replacement for former CEO Dominique Cerutti, who in April announced his surprise resignation to take a job at consulting firm Altran Technologies SA.

Mr. Boujnah was a senior adviser to the French Minister for Economy, Finance and Industry Dominique Strauss-Kahn in the 1990s and has previously worked for Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse.

He was chosen for his "deep understanding of the industry, strong sector expertise and on his strategic vision on the growth prospects of Euronext," according to a statement from Rijnhard Van Tets, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Euronext NV

The company said current interim CEO Jos Dijsselhof will remain in this position until Mr. Boujnah is officially appointed.
