INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 28  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Steak n Shake Company
(NYSE:SNS) today announced that it will release the Company's fiscal fourth
quarter and year-end 2004 results after the market close on Wednesday, November
10, 2004, to be followed by a conference call at 5:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) or
4:00 p.m. (Central Time).  Hosting the call will be Peter Dunn, President and
Chief Executive Officer, and Jeffrey A. Blade, Senior Vice President and Chief
Financial Officer.
