The Hon’ble High Court of Madras has admitted the Petition filed by Sterlite Industries (India) Limited in relation to the Scheme of Amalgamation and Arrangement amongst Sterlite Industries (India) Ltd, The Madras Aluminium Company Limited, Sterlite Energy Limited, Vedanta Aluminium Limited and Sesa Goa Limited and their respective Shareholders and Creditors on July 17, 2012. The returnable date fixed by the High Court for the final hearing for approval of the Scheme is August 27, 2012.
