SJG Selects Opower to Launch Energy Efficiency Program

Partnership will empower over 170,000 households to achieve energy and cost savings

Opower (NYSE: OPWR), the global leader in cloud-based software for the utility industry, today announced that South Jersey Gas will launch an energy efficiency program powered by Opower’s technology. The deal will provide Home Energy Reports and online tools to over 170,000 households in southern New Jersey, empowering them with personalized views of their energy use and targeted recommendations to make their homes more efficient.

Opower’s Home Energy Reports offer a series of customized tips to help customers identify easy ways to lower their consumption and save money. The reports couple behavioral science with Big Data analytics to provide useful information about whether a household’s energy use is in line with similar-sized homes, the time of year, and local weather patterns.
