Introducing Siemens Gigaset FlexConfig software for service providers: Cost-effective broadband device configuration in five sim

MUNICH, Germany, Dec. 3  /PRNewswire/ -- Siemens Home and Office Communication Devices (SHC) launched today Siemens Gigaset FlexConfig, a unique software tool that enables service providers to configure their Siemens broadband devices according to their network specifications quickly and easily. Thanks to this innovative tool -- the only one of its kind on the market today -- any provider can configure their own broadband devices without the assistance of the manufacturer, saving both time and money.

The Gigaset FlexConfig software tool is ideally suited to the needs of service providers who wish to deliver customized broadband devices to subscribers without having to go through the time-consuming and costly process of having the device manufacturer create a custom device for their network or adapt their network to accommodate an off-the-shelf broadband device. Gigaset FlexConfig enables service providers to create a device configuration file, which can then be copied onto an installation CD, branded by the service provider and sent out to their broadband subscribers with the gateway. The subscriber installs their broadband device as usual, and enjoys the service as before.

Customized configuration file in five steps

Using the intuitive, user-friendly interface, service providers create their configuration file for their broadband device with Gigaset FlexConfig in five simple steps.

  Step 1: Configure device to adapt to the network
  Step 2: Test device on the network to validate the settings
  Step 3: Run Gigaset FlexConfig to create an executable file (.exe file)
  Step 4: Edit the welcome page; add logo and personal greeting
  Step 5: Copy the file to the installation CDs and distribute



With these five steps, service providers can offer customized devices with configuration elements including the ISP connection and home network parameters, security settings, gateway help reporting, as well as color palette and logos to reflect the respective provider's corporate identity.

Compatibility

Gigaset FlexConfig gives service providers a low-cost, rapid solution for configuring various types of Siemens broadband devices. The software tool supports the SpeedStream 4100 dsl modem, SpeedStream 4200 USB dsl modem, Gigaset SE565 dsl gateway and the SE567/568 WLAN dsl gateways.
