Schwab Teams Up With Industry's Top Trading Experts to Help
Active Traders Increase Profitability
Schwab and CyberTrader Push Education as a Key to Trading Success
SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Long recognized as a leading
provider of technology, tools and educational services for active traders,
Charles Schwab & Co. Inc. and CyberTrader Inc., today announced plans to host a
number of trading experts and market strategists at the upcoming 6th Annual New
York Traders Expo in an effort to stress ongoing education as a critical
component to being a successful active trader.
"At Schwab, we're constantly raising the bar with our educational seminars and
tools so that our clients can continually hone their skills and deepen their
trading knowledge to stay ahead of the market," said Andy Gill, senior vice
president of Schwab's active trading enterprise. "Given the overwhelmingly
positive response from attendees at previous tradeshows, we've increased the
scope for this year's interactive sessions and invited some of the best-known
names in the industry to teach them."
Seasoned trading gurus will be on hand to offer their insight on everything
from stock screening and selection to candlestick charting, multi-leg options
strategies and trading "e-mini" stock index contracts. Approximately 5,000
active traders from around the country are expected to attend the four-day
event, which runs from February 12-15 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New
York's Times Square.
Vincent Phillips, CEO of CyberTrader, Inc., said: "Today's traders place great
emphasis on the total value of an active trader offering -- and they've quickly
become wise to the offers from brokers who only tout rock bottom prices and
have all but eliminated any of the value-added services, like education and
research. At CyberTrader, we believe strongly that an educated trader is a
successful trader."
Schwab and CyberTrader held more than 2,800 live seminars, attracting 33,000
active traders throughout 2004. The seminars were free-of-charge and open to
anyone, whether or not a Schwab or a CyberTrader client.
Some of the free presentations scheduled at the Schwab and CyberTrader exhibit
booth and "breakout sessions" include:
-- "Candlestick Charting Essentials" -- Steve Nison, CMT, Founder & President,
Candlecharts.com
-- "E-Mini Trading Strategies" -- Dave Lerman, Associate Director Equity
Products, Chicago Mercantile Exchange
-- "Ways to Profit By Trading the Opening Gap" -- Ken Tower, CMT, Chief Market
Strategist, CyberTrader
-- "Is the Bear Market Over?" -- JohnO'Donnell, CEO, Online Trading Academy
-- "Multi Leg Options Strategies -- Basic and Advanced" -- Randy Frederick,
Director of Derivatives, CyberTrader
-- "How to Achieve Long-Term Success with Short-Term Trading of E-Mini Stock
Indexes" -- Afshin Taghechian, Founder and CEO, Traders International.com
-- "Trading SPDR(R) Options at the CBOE" -- Jim Bittman, Senior Instructor, The
Options Institute
-- "Find the Right Stock at the Right Time" -- Tom Ventresca, Vice President
and Director of Research, MarketEdge.
The educational sessions will be held throughout the Expo at the Schwab and
CyberTrader booth #6130.
"At last year's Traders Expo in Las Vegas, I participated in Ken Tower's
session about profiting by trading the opening gap and took home some great
ideas that has served me well ever since," said Sami Jabri, a CyberTrader
client who frequently attends Trader Expos. "The caliber of speakers that
Schwab and CyberTrader make available to all Expo attendees is second to none
and a testament to their commitment to the active trader community. I find the
free educational seminars on the CyberTrader platform particularly helpful."
