Rohm and Haas Company (NYSE:ROH) has been named Best Innovation Contributor 2008 by Henkels Laundry and Home Care business. The award was made by Thomas Mller-Kirschbaum, Corporate Senior Vice President for R&D, Technology and Supply Chain within Henkel's Laundry & Home Care business sector. The award was given for breakthrough technology for automatic dishwashing detergents.
Rohm and Haas developed a new, super-efficient dispersant based on polyacrylic technology that allowed Henkel to reformulate its automatic dishwashing detergents and offer new features for its products. Ian Burke, Global Business Manager for Rohm and Haass Primary Materials business, says, It is quite gratifying to be engaged with a valued partner like Henkel. Our relationships with our counterparts within the Laundry and Home Care division are exceptional. In making the presentation, Mller-Kirschbaum explained that this kind of innovation and collaboration is crucial in todays economic environment and the key to industry success. The global automatic dishwashing detergent is estimated to generate approximately $3 billion in sales a year, according to Euromonitor International.
