LIMA, Peru--Peruvian President Ollanta Humala is planning to meet on Monday with the head of Spanish oil company Repsol SA (REP.MC, REPYY), a spokeswoman for the president said.
Mr. Humala is scheduled to meet in Lima with Repsol's chairman and chief executive officer Antonio Brufau around noon local time on Monday.
The meeting comes a few days after Peruvian Prime Minister Juan Jimenez confirmed that the government is interested in buying a minority stake in Repsol's La Pampilla refinery in Peru.
Mr. Jimenez said last week that state-owned oil company Petroleos del Peru SA (PETROBC1.VL), or Petroperu, is studying the possibility of taking a stake in the refinery. He said at the time that no offer has been made.
The president's spokeswoman was unable to confirm if Mr. Humala and Mr. Brufau will discuss La Pampilla. A representative from Repsol wasn't available for comment.
Repsol has been selling some of its assets, and earlier this year, it sold off a minority holding in Peru LNG, which produces liquefied natural gas.
