Everest Re Group, Ltd. (NYSE:RE) announced today that Darin Scanzano will join Everest Insurance® as the newly appointed CEO of Everest Insurance Company of Canada later this summer. Darin, who will report to David Sandler, Head of the Everest Insurance® Risk Management Group, will be based in the company’s Toronto, Canada, office.

Commenting on the hire, David Sandler, Head of the Everest Insurance® Risk Management Group stated, “We are excited to have Darin join as CEO of Everest Insurance Company of Canada. His depth of experience in the Canadian market, and deep trading relationships developed over his thirty year career in the industry, will help us to continue expanding our Canadian insurance operation.”

Prior to joining Everest, Darin held the role of Executive Vice President and Chief Agent for Axis Capital in Toronto, where he was responsible for all Canadian insurance operations, including underwriting, claims, and finance, while serving as senior member of Axis’ Executive Management Group for North America. Darin holds a BA from Concordia University in Montreal.
