Pope & Talbot, Inc. (NYSE:POP) announced today that Keith Matheney and
Harold Stanton joined the Company as Directors on December 8, 2006.
Mr. Matheney will be a member of the Board’s
Audit and Corporate Governance Committees. Since 2004 he has been a
managing member of Matheney and Matheney, a CPA PLLC and a director of
Huttig Building Products Inc. (NYSE). Mr. Matheney retired from
Louisiana Pacific Corporation in late 2003. From 2002 to 2003 he was
Executive Vice President Engineered Wood Products for Louisiana Pacific
Corporation. From 1997 to 2002, he was Vice President of various
divisions for Louisiana Pacific Corporation.
Mr. Stanton will be a member of the Compensation Committee. He is
currently Executive Vice President, Specialty Product Sales for
Louisiana Pacific Corporation and will retire and move to Portland in
February 2007. He also held various executive positions from 1997 to
2002. Mr. Stanton also worked for International Paper Company from 1990
to 1997 where he held various management positions.
