Joe Burton, CTO and SVP of Technology, Development and Strategy for Plantronics (NYSE: PLT), a pioneer in wearable technology, will keynote Nov. 5 at Defrag 2013. Defrag serves as a showcase for technology developments expected to emerge in the two, five and 10-year time horizons involving human to computer interaction. Burton’s presentation, entitled “Invisible Infrastructure, Prescient Technology, Meaningful Data: Communications 2025 and Beyond”, will address the technology advances that are reshaping how people communicate and outline the opportunities for creating more personalized, highly tailored experiences.

Additionally, PLT Labs™ will be on-site at the show demonstrating Wearable Concept 1; a prototype communication device equipped with a low-latency, nine-axes sensor which tracks head orientation in three dimensions: heading, pitch and roll (the X, Y and Z axes). It also features tap detection and free-fall detection. Open APIs enable developers to leverage the onboard MFI chip for ease of integration with the iOS platform over Bluetooth® as well as the Windows® operating system.
