               New Media Industries plc ("the Company" or "NMI")



          Placing of 49,870,930 New Ordinary Shares at 2.5p per share

Pursuant to the announcements made by the Company on 19 May 2003 and 13 June
2003 concerning, inter alia, the raising of additional equity capital and
approval of relevant resolutions at the Company's EGM, NMI announces that it has
placed a total of 49,870,930 new Ordinary Shares of 1p each in the Company ("
Placing Shares") with investors at a price of 2.5p per share ("the Placing").
The Placing has raised approximately #1.247 million for the Company (gross of
expenses).

Of the Placing Shares, an aggregate of 4,700,000 shares were subscribed by
directors of the Company ("Directors") as described below. The Company has today
applied for the Placing Shares to be admitted to the Alternative Investment
Market ("AIM") and Admission of the Placing Shares to AIM is expected to become
effective on 30 June 2003.

Placing Shares were subscribed by Directors in the Placing as described below:

In addition and as described in the circular to shareholders issued on 20 May
2003, Paul Nathan and Gabriel Behr were today granted options over 3,000,000
Ordinary Shares each under the Company's EMI Scheme which was approved by
shareholders on 13 June 2003, all of which are exercisable within 10 years of
the date of grant at an exercise price of 2.5p per share (subject to Inland
Revenue approval).
