Item 2.02  Results of Operations and Financial Condition

On February 21, 2012, Newfield Exploration Company (“Newfield”) issued a press release announcing its fourth quarter and full-year 2011 operational summary.  A copy of that press release is furnished herewith as Exhibit 99.1.

 

The information in Item 2.02 of this Current Report, including the exhibit attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1, is being furnished and shall not be deemed “filed” for the purposes of Section 18 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as amended, or otherwise subject to the liabilities of that Section. Item 7.01  Regulation FD Disclosure

On February 21, 2012, Newfield issued a press release announcing its 2012 capital investment program and plans for “oil focused” growth.  A copy of that press release is furnished herewith as Exhibit 99.2.

 

Also on February 21, 2012, Newfield issued its @NFX publication, which includes fourth quarter and full year 2011 and first quarter 2012 guidance and tables detailing complete hedging positions as of February 20, 2012.  A copy of the publication is furnished herewith as Exhibit 99.3.
