Mykrolis Corporation Announces Acquisition and Employment
Inducement Stock Option Grants 


BILLERICA, Mass., Oct. 29  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Mykrolis Corporation
(NYSE:MYK), a leading supplier of components and subsystems to the
semiconductor industry, today announced that Acquisition and Employment
Inducement Stock Options covering an aggregate of 3,300 shares had been granted
on October 27, 2004 to three new employees that have joined Mykrolis by reason
of its acquisition of Bentec Scientific LLC and one newly hired employee of
Mykrolis.  In accordance with New York Stock Exchange Rule 303A(8), these stock
option grants were made under a stock option plan without stockholder approval.
 Rule 303A(8) requires public announcement of option grants made under this
type of plan as well as written notice to the Exchange.

All of the above stock options were granted on terms that include the
following: seven year duration, exercise price equal to the closing price of
Mykrolis stock on the New York Stock Exchange on date of grant, vesting of 25%
of the shares on the first anniversary of the grant date, with the balance
vesting quarterly thereafter in 12 equal installments.
