Mykrolis Board Elects Gideon Argov CEO
BILLERICA, Mass., Nov. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Mykrolis Corporation
(NYSE:MYK) today announced that its board of directors has elected Gideon Argov
as the company's chief executive officer, effective immediately. Mr. Argov was
also elected to the Company's board of directors. Mr. Argov succeeds C.
William Zadel, who is stepping down as CEO as part of a planned retirement.
Prior to joining Mykrolis, Mr. Argov served as Managing Director of Operations
at Parthenon Capital, a $1 billion private equity firm based in Boston. From
1991 until 2000, Mr. Argov was with Kollmorgen Corporation where as chairman,
CEO, and president he transformed an underperforming mini- conglomerate into a
$350 million leading industrial automation company. For three years before
joining Kollmorgen, Mr. Argov was CEO of High Voltage Engineering Corporation.
He served with Bain and Company from 1982 to 1987.

Mr. Argov graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard University and received an
M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He is currently on the
board of directors of Helix Technologies, TransTechnology Corporation, and
Amazys Holding AG and serves as chairman of the board of Fundtech Corporation.
Mr. Zadel will remain as chairman of the board of Mykrolis until December 31,
2004 at which time he will resign from that role and from his position as
director with the company. At that time he will assume a part-time role as
CEO-Emeritus. Effective on January 1, 2005, Thomas O. Pyle, currently a
director of Mykrolis, will become non-executive chairman of the board. Mr.
Pyle, a retired health care executive, has served as a director of several
public and private companies and has been a member of the Mykrolis board since
the company was founded.
