Seeber Italy Invests in the MSC.MasterKey Licensing System to
Improve Virtual Product Development
Leading Automotive Supplier Implements MSC.MasterKey License System for Virtual
Product Development of Polymer Materials
SANTA ANA, Calif., Sept. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MSC.Software Corp.
(NYSE:MNS), the leading global provider of virtual product development (VPD)
products including simulation software and services, today announced that
Seeber Italy (Seeber), a subsidiary of the Rochling Automotive KG and one of
the world's leading manufacturers of systems and components for the automotive
industry, has invested in the MSC.MasterKey license system. Seeber, who has
relied upon MSC.Marc for more than 4 years for the non-linear simulation of
Degas bottles, will now implement the integrated functionality of MSC.Marc and
MSC.Nastran for dynamic structural analysis of other products including intake
systems, filler housings, and charge ducts for intercooler fans and shrouds.
"Seeber is an excellent example of many of our small and medium-sized customers
who have relied upon one or two of our software tools for a number of years.
As their processes and skills mature, they are looking to increase their
investments and further improve their product development processes and
MSC.Software, because of past successes, is their partner of choice," says
Frank Perna, chairman and chief executive officer of MSC.Software. "There is a
direct correlation between investments in VPD technologies and processes and
saving time and money. We're very pleased that Seeber has chosen to increase
their investment in MSC.Software products and services and we are confident
they will see a rapid return on their investment."
"When we first realized that we needed software to simulate non-linear material
behavior we performed a benchmark and MSC.Marc came out best for our needs,"
said Ing. Ferdinand Di Pauli, manager of the simulation department at Seeber in
Leifers, Italy. "As our needs have developed, we use MSC.Marc to simulate
almost all the products we develop and now we want to include the simulation of
structural dynamic. Because we were already an MSC.Software customer we looked
at what MSC.Software had to offer. We decided on MSC.Nastran because it is the
state of the art software for this kind of simulation and when MSC.Software
proposed the MasterKey License System we realized that this was a kind of
flexible offer that would include the products we wanted and cover all of our
simulation needs within structural analysis, at reasonable conditions. We will
deepen our knowledge within VPD and will keep on relying on MSC.Software
products. I believe that the future of Virtual Product Development lies within
the integration of the different software products. MSC.Software is offering a
lot in this area and is an experienced provider of VPD solutions."
