Marshall & Ilsley (NYSE:MI)
Historical Stock Chart
From Oct 2019 to Oct 2024
Metavante Corporation, the banking and payments technology subsidiary of
Marshall & Ilsley Corporation (NYSE: MI), today announced that,
beginning January 2007, its LINK2GOV business unit can process credit
card payments related to federal business tax Forms 9411
and 9402 for an expanded number of filing
years: 1997 through present balance due3.
Businesses can make these credit card-initiated, balance-due tax
payments at www.PAY1040.com, or by
calling 1-888-729-1040.
When the IRS first authorized card-based business tax payments earlier
this year, prior-year acceptance reached back only as far as 2005. An
expansion of the program enables LINK2GOV, which is in its fifth year of
contracted credit card processing for the IRS, to accept all major
credit cards for an unprecedented amount of business tax payments.
Additionally, LINK2GOV’s QuickPay e-mail
Reminder program offers automated reminders, prior to the next Form 941
tax return due date. Each convenience e-mail contains instructions on
how to make a Form 941 Employer's Quarterly Tax balance due payment at
the Pay1040 site. For the businesses, some Forms 941 and 940 tax
payments may qualify for payment card rewards programs, and the IRS will
allow the standard convenience fee to be deducted as a business expense.
“Expedited payment services are increasingly
in demand across the consumer segment, and they’re
equally attractive to businesses dealing with a meticulous federal tax
payment schedule,” said Edward Braswell,
president, LINK2GOV. “As the IRS allows,
LINK2GOV will continue to expand the reach, functionality and
convenience of online, card-based federal tax payments for both
consumers and business.”
LINK2GOV, a Metavante company, has been providing comprehensive,
customized electronic service applications for government agencies since
1995. In addition to the IRS payment services, LINK2GOV also facilitates
the collection of real estate taxes, utility bills, vehicle
registrations and driver’s license renewals,
parking tickets, traffic citations, tuition payments, court fees and
fines, hunting and fishing licenses, as well as various business
licenses. Metavante Payment Solutions delivers electronic money movement
through an integrated payments network, including an ATM/PIN debit
