McDermott International, Inc. (NYSE:MDR) announced today that its
subsidiary, BWX Technologies, Inc. (“BWXT”),
is part of the team that has been awarded the Department of Energy’s
(“DOE”) contract to
manage and operate the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, a key
design laboratory in the U.S. nuclear weapons complex. BWXT is part of
the Lawrence Livermore National Security, LLC (“LLNS”),
which bid on managing the national security site. Other members of the
LLNS team are Bechtel National, University of California, Washington
Group International, and Battelle. The team also includes Texas A&M
University.
As a partner in the LLNS organization, BWXT brings years of
high-consequence nuclear management and operations experience. As in all
of its operations, BWXT provides strong leadership focused on conduct of
operations, performance, security and safety.
