LOUIS, March 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The May Department Stores Company , one of the country's leading department store retailers, today announced it is crediting $53 million through its Profit Sharing Plan to the 52,000 associates who participate in the plan nationwide. The effective matching rate is 91% of associates' $57 million in matchable contributions for 2003. May associates contributed a total of $94 million to the plan in 2003. "We are genuinely pleased to provide such a substantial profit sharing match for our associates," said Gene Kahn, chairman and chief executive officer.
