LyondellBasell (LYB) on Tuesday reported an operational disruption that led to above-normal gas emissions at its refinery in Houston.
In a statement to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the refinery reported operational process "upsets" at two units.
"Operational changes were made to minimize emissions and return the units to stable operations," the refinery said.
The emissions, including the release of some 34,000 pounds of sulfur dioxide, happened late Monday night, it said.
The 264,000 barrel-a-day Houston refinery covers 700 acres.
