TruePosition(R) Signs Agreement With i wireless for Finder(TM)
System Location Solution
KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., Aug. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- TruePosition(R), Inc.,
a leading provider of wireless location-based solutions, today announced an
agreement to provide its Finder(TM) system to i wireless. Finder will enable
the Iowa based wireless carrier to meet the Phase II performance requirements
of the Federal Communications Commission's E-911 mandate.
TruePosition's Finder system uses network-based Uplink Time Difference of
Arrival (U-TDOA) and Angle of Arrival (AOA) technologies and has exceeded the
FCC's requirements in commercial deployments across the United States. It can
also accommodate location-based commercial services and since it is a network-
based wireless technology, does not require subscribers to replace or modify
their existing handsets in any way.
"We are committed to providing our customers with the necessary tools needed to
ensure their safety at all times, while laying the foundation for cutting-edge
wireless location services in the future," said Mike Haskins, Chief Executive
Officer of i wireless. "TruePosition's technology, demonstrated leadership in
the wireless location industry, and strong commitment to meeting the needs of
the rural carrier community made it a logical choice for our network," added
Haskins.
TruePosition, which has deployed its Finder system in most of the major markets
in the United States, offers those same benefits specifically aimed at the
rural operator community. It has optimized Finder's technology to address the
specific challenges of the rural community, without sacrificing performance or
scalability.
"Our Finder system has been designed to provide the rural wireless operator
community with the same reliability, diversity and quality of service you would
expect from the nation's largest operators," said Chris Polito, Vice President
of Sales at TruePosition. "i wireless is a leader in the rural carrier
community and we are delighted to be working with it to bring all elements of
location services to its customers."
