TruePosition Files Patent Infringement Litigation Against Andrew Corporation

BERWYN, Pa., March 14  /PRNewswire/ -- TruePosition, Inc., a leading provider of wireless location goods and services, has sued Andrew Corporation for infringing a patent dealing with the location of cellular phones using the wireless network control channel, which is particularly important for safety and security applications.  TruePosition's suit focuses on Andrew Corporation's international activities, and seeks, in addition to damages, a permanent injunction prohibiting further infringement.

TruePosition previously sued Andrew Corporation for infringing different patents and in a 2004 settlement Andrew agreed to pay TruePosition $35 million and to provide warrants to purchase one million shares of Andrew's common stock.  In 2001, TruePosition also prevailed in a suit against SigmaOne Communications Corp. for infringing several patents, including the one at issue in the current suit against the Andrew Corporation.
