Kellwood Names Childrenswear Executive Gary F. Simmons President
of Gerber Childrenswear 


NEW YORK, March 2  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Kellwood announced the appointment
of Gary F. Simmons as president of its Gerber Childrenswear division, today,
according to Patrick J. Burns, chief executive officer of Childrenswear and
president of Kellwood Intimate Apparel.

Simmons has 29 years' experience in the apparel and retail industry -- and has
developed strategic partnerships within the industry to open new revenue
opportunities and maximize bottom line results.

"Gary is a results-oriented executive with strong experience in leading
high-performance organizations, forging retailer relationships and building
strong brands. I look forward to partnering with him as our management team
charts the course which will carry the company to continued success," said
Burns.

Simmons is a seasoned executive in the childrenswear market.  He most recently
held the post of chief executive officer for VF Playwear were he directed all
aspects of operations for the branded childrenswear business from 1997-2004. 
Prior to VF he was president and chief executive officer of Healthtex from
1993-1997.  In addition to these posts, he held various management level
positions within the childrenswear industry from 1976-1992.

Based in New York, Simmons reports to Burns.
