Nuveen Global Equity Income Fund Announces Adoption of Currency Hedging Program

Program Seeks to Enhance Investor Demand and Reduce Trading Discounts

Nuveen Investments, a leading global provider of investment services to institutions as well as individual investors, today announced that the Board of Trustees of the Nuveen Global Equity Income Fund (NYSE: JGV) has approved implementation by the fund of a currency hedging program effective January 1, 2016. Under the program, the fund will systematically hedge the currency risk from its investments in non-US dollar denominated foreign equity securities. The goal of the program is to enhance shareholder value by offering a global portfolio of attractive, dividend-paying stocks without the additional risk from currency exposure. The program is being implemented to differentiate the fund more clearly from peers, potentially reduce incremental volatility from currency exposure and allow the fund to implement its managed distribution policy more effectively.
