For more than 100 years, spectators have lined the streets of Pasadena,
Calif., on New Year's Day to "ooh" and "aah" at the fantastical floral
floats of the annual Tournament of Roses Parade. But this year, Jack in
the Box® restaurants will have parade watchers on their feet groovin'
and shakin' with its disco-themed float – "Jack-O-licious."
Designed by Festival Artists Worldwide, the float – the first-ever
sponsored by Jack in the Box – will feature a live band, flashing lights
and a glittering disco ball atop giant platform shoes surrounded by more
than 70 booty-shaking dancers. Riding on the float will be Jack, the
quick-serve chain's witty spokesman and namesake, and representatives
from Big Brothers Big Sisters, the company's primary charitable partner,
including Paul Castillo, 2008 California and Orange County Big Brother
of the Year. Joining them will be Jack in the Box employees, franchise
operators and company executives.
"Participating in the parade is an amazing honor," said Terri Funk
Graham, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Jack in
the Box Inc. "It's a wonderful way to showcase our decade-long
partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters, which provides valuable
mentoring relationships to children."
