The International Securities Exchange (NYSE: ISE) today announced the
official launch of its Historical Options Tick Data™
offering (ISE HOT Data™), the first in its
suite of new market data products. The ISE HOT Data offering includes
the full daily tick file of all trades and quotes for equity and index
options that are reported to the Options Price Reporting Authority
(OPRA). These comprehensive, historical data files will enable
sophisticated investment professionals to conduct in-depth trade
analyses, back-testing of trading models, and will serve as a data
source for compliance requests and time and sales queries.
Historical options data has not previously been available as a complete,
end-of-day file. Dr. David Reynolds, Chief Technology Officer of
Quantlab Financial LLC, states, “We require
complete and reliable data for our market analysis. Options market data
is particularly challenging because of the extraordinary quote volume,
but ISE met our needs by providing quick delivery of the OPRA data in
the industry-standard format that is easily read by our data loader.”
ISE currently provides two ISE HOT Data offerings to meet investor
demands. The first product is an annual subscription to a daily
end-of-day file that is accessible as a flat file from a FTP server over
the Internet. The second offering provides flexibility to make ad-hoc
requests for a specific range of dates. The ad-hoc requests will be
processed and delivered on a portable hard-drive device which can be
reused by the client. In an effort to make this data accessible and
cost-effective, both offerings are delivered as compressed files to
reduce necessary bandwidth requirements.
ISE HOT Data is an important component of ISE’s
ongoing initiative to expand its Information and Market Data business.
Two additional products, an enhanced version of the ISE Sentiment Index®
(ISEE®) and Depth of Market Data, are slated
to launch in the coming weeks.
