Valicore Technologies, a leading provider of custom security technology
consulting and engineering services, today announced it will partner
with Infineon Technologies North America for embedded security
applications based on Infineon’s SLE88
security processor. Infineon is a leading semiconductor company that
makes chips for the smart card and security industry.
Valicore will develop software for a broad variety of embedded security
applications utilizing the SLE88 in a surface mount form factor. This
includes cryptographic key management functions, chip-level high
security modules and embedded device authentication for anti-cloning
applications. Infineon’s SLE88 family of
32-bit chip security processors offers high performance, includes an
encrypted memory for key storage, and enables robust security protection
at the chip level.
“With the increase of intellectual property
theft via cloning, the need to protect a company’s
IP is increasing. The SLE88 can be incorporated into the design of the
product to authenticate its IP with high levels of security,”
said Joerg Borchert, vice president of smartcard and security ICs,
Infineon Technologies North America. “We are
impressed by Valicore’s software development
expertise and experience in optimizing the performance of the security
IC (platform). We are confident that they are an ideal software partner
to develop embedded security solution on our SLE88 security products.”
“We are honored to partner with Infineon for
this work focused on such an important product,”
said Greg Powell, president and chief executive officer, Valicore. “Infineon’s
partnership with Valicore further validates our company’s
growing success and demonstrates to the industry that services like ours
can be a valuable asset to any company, regardless of size.”
The terms of the partnership are not fully disclosed, but Valicore will
provide services to Infineon customers and prospects for embedded
security applications engineering. Infineon is the world’s
largest smartcard chip provider.
