Schatz & Nobel, P.C. Announces Class Action Lawsuit Against
Infineon Technologies AG
HARTFORD, Conn., Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The law firm of Schatz & Nobel, P.C.,
which has significant experience representing investors in prosecuting claims
of securities fraud, announces that a lawsuit seeking class action status has
been filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of
California on behalf of all persons who purchased the securities of Infineon
Technologies AG (NYSE:IFX) ("Infineon") between March 13, 2000 and July 19,
2004 (the "Class Period"), including anyone who purchased in the March 13, 2000
or July 12, 2001 offerings of Infineon American Depository Receipts ("ADRs").
The complaint alleges that during the Class Period, Infineon violated United
States securities laws by issuing false or misleading public statements. The
Complaint alleges that Infineon was engaged in a conspiracy to fix the prices
of Dynamic Random Access Memory ("DRAM") devices sold to original equipment
manufacturers ("OEMs") of personal computers and servers. On September 15,
2004, the Associated Press issued an article which stated: "German computer
chipmaker Infineon Technologies AG has agreed to plead guilty to price fixing
and will pay a $160 million fine. . . . In a plea agreement filed in U.S.
District Court in San Francisco, Infineon acknowledged conspiring with other
companies to fix prices of widely used computer memory products between July
1999 and June 2002."
If you are a member of the class, you may, no later than November 29, 2004,
request that the Court appoint you as lead plaintiff of the class. A lead
plaintiff is a class member that acts on behalf of other class members in
directing the litigation. Although your ability to share in any recovery is
not affected by the decision whether or not to seek appointment as a lead
plaintiff, lead plaintiffs make important decisions which could affect the
overall recovery for class members, including decisions concerning settlement.
The securities laws require the Court to consider the class member(s) with the
largest financial interest as presumptively the most adequate lead
plaintiff(s).
