Jonathan House Joins Hughes Supply as Vice President of Supply
Chain Management
Appointment Reinforces Company's Commitment to Operational Efficiency and

ORLANDO, Fla., July 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Hughes Supply Inc. (NYSE:HUG)
announced today that Jonathan House has joined Hughes Supply as Vice President
of Supply Chain Management and will report to Chief Operating Officer Neal
Keating. Mr. House most recently served as Vice President, Distribution &
Logistics at Standard Register, a leading information solutions company, in
Dayton, Ohio. Prior to Standard Register, he worked as Vice President,
Logistics, Warehousing and Distribution, at Roberds, a leading retailer of home
furnishing products, and as Senior Consulting Project Manager at NCR
Corporation, a leading global technology company. His past military experience
included serving as Brigade Commander for the Eighth Transportation Brigade
with responsibility for 4,500 soldiers and Chief of Logistics for the U.N.
Peacekeeping Force in Israel and Egypt.

Mr. House will be responsible for leading an overall assessment of the current
Hughes Supply logistics system and then developing recommendations for
continuous improvement. He will serve as a resource in identifying methods for
enhancing customer service levels and reducing the cost structure. He will
also spearhead efforts for improving processes and training, developing
operations talent and driving superior performance in Hughes Supply's
distribution network.

Mr. House holds both a B.A. in Political Science and an M.B.A. from the
University of Dayton. He served as a Senior Research Fellow at National
Defense University in Washington, D.C. and wrote a thesis on U.S. military and
civilian transportation systems in times of war. He participated in the
Logistics Executive Development Program at the University of Tennessee and the
Senior Executive Development Program at Harvard University.
