ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 6  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Hughes Supply Inc.  announced
today that its annual meeting of shareholders will be held Thursday, May 20,
2004  at 10:00 a.m., local time, at its principal executive offices at 501 W.
Church Street, Orlando, Florida. The record date for shareholders entitled to
notice of and to vote at the annual meeting has been set for Friday, March 26,
2004. The matters to be considered atthe annual meeting will be set forth in
proxy materials to be filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission and
distributed to the company's shareholders.
