Georgia Bulldogs Football Players and Coaches Join HomeBanc to put on Football Camp for Kids with Cancer

ATHENS, Ga., June 26  /PRNewswire/ -- The Georgia Bulldogs football team will continue a winning tradition of community service by partnering with HomeBanc Mortgage Corporation to run a football camp at Camp Sunshine, a camp for children with cancer in Rutledge, Ga. (see directions below).  The camp is slated for Tuesday, June 27 and will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  About 25 players and coaches will be on hand, including Bulldogs Head Football Coach Mark Richt.

The children at Camp Sunshine will participate in kicking, quarterback, running back, play set up, defense and lineman sessions.  The campers will also have an opportunity to get autographs from and have their pictures taken with the players and coaches.

Camp Sunshine is a two-week summer camp for children with cancer held each year at Camp Twin Lakes in Rutledge.  The camp gives children with cancer the opportunity to learn new skills, develop independence and to participate in activities that promote normal childhood development.  About 200 children will be at the camp.

The Dawgs' partnership with HomeBanc in community service goes back to 2002 when the team and HomeBanc built the first of three Habitat for Humanity homes together in Athens, Ga.
