Hollinger International Announces Resignations of Stanley M. Beck and Randall C. Benson from Board of Directors

CHICAGO, July 13  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Hollinger International Inc. (NYSE:HLR) (the "Company") announced that Stanley M. Beck, Q.C. and Randall C. Benson have today submitted their resignations from the Company's Board of Directors, effective immediately. Mr. Beck is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hollinger Inc., of which Mr. Benson is the Chief Restructuring Officer and also a director.

By letter dated July 10, 2006, the Company's Chairman, Raymond G. H. Seitz, requested the resignations of Beck and Benson, citing, "the clear conflict of interest afflicting your dual Board membership at Inc. and International."
