Hancock Fabrics Names Gail Moore Chief Merchandising Officer

Hancock Fabrics, Inc. (NYSE: HKF), a leading specialty
store retailer, today announced that Gail Moore has joined the Company
as Senior Vice President and Chief Merchandising Officer. In this
role, Ms. Moore will be responsible for all aspects of merchandising,
including, merchandising strategy, assortment planning, sourcing and
private label product development, and will report to Jane Aggers,
Chief Executive Officer. "We are delighted to welcome Gail to Hancock
Fabrics," Aggers said. "Her broad merchandising leadership experience
will enable us to deliver the value, quality and style our customers
expect while stretching the boundaries of our merchandise mix and
expanding into new, innovative product categories. As a key member of
our leadership team, Gail will play a significant role as we further
our efforts to take a more integrated approach to serving our
customers and building our business."
   Ms. Moore is a seasoned merchant with more than 20 years of
experience. Prior to joining Hancock Fabrics, Gail was Senior Vice
President, Divisional Merchandise Manager, for Fred's Inc., a
specialty store chain with over 600 locations, where she was
responsible for merchandising for all apparel, stationery, juvenile
furniture and home decor categories. Previously, Gail held
merchandising positions with Dollar General Corporation and Belk
department stores. She holds a bachelor's degree in Business
Management from Western Kentucky University.
