      Hancock Fabrics, Inc. (NYSE: HKF), today reported that it has filed its 
      Annual Report on Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended January 28, 2006 
      with the U. S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The Company will now 
      begin working to file its quarterly reports on Form 10-Q for each of its 
      2006 quarters as soon as practicable. As part of its continued listing 
      assessment, the New York Stock Exchange will continue to monitor 
      progress on the Company’s delayed Form 10-Q
