GTECH to Showcase Video Lottery Solutions at NASPL Trade Show WEST GREENWICH, R.I., Sept. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- GTECH Holdings Corporation (NYSE:GTK) today announced that it will feature solutions from recently-acquired video lottery provider Spielo at the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL) Fall Conference and Trade Show in Quebec City, Quebec, on October 5 - 9, 2004. GTECH has successfully completed the integration of Spielo into the Company's expanding global gaming strategy, and this will be the first opportunity for existing and potential lottery customers to see how GTECH and Spielo will operate as an integrated company. "We are looking forward to the opportunity of demonstrating the value this acquisition can bring to our lottery customers and prospective customers," said GTECH Senior Vice President of Gaming Solutions Marc A. Crisafulli. "It will be important for us to show how adding Spielo to GTECH expands our global presence and distribution platform, enabling us to offer even more content and hardware opportunities for our customers around the globe." Spielo's popular gaming machines, Aura(TM) and PowerStation 5(TM), will be showcased in Quebec, as well as its well-regarded library of exciting games with an extensive number of unique titles on display. GTECH sees video lottery as playing a significant role in the near future of government-sanctioned lotteries. "We believe that the video lottery business is positioned for high growth. That growth will be driven by a number of factors, including the likelihood of U.S. jurisdictions authorizing expanded gaming, the demand for video lottery in overseas markets, and the increasing role of content replacement," continued Mr. Crisafulli. "With Spielo, GTECH is well-positioned to capture new business and grow market share by leveraging our leadership position in the lottery industry, government relations experience, global presence, and technological skills." Video lottery has been a key component to GTECH's growth strategy in recent years. Since 2001, GTECH has been awarded contracts to provide video lottery central systems and/or products and services to customers in Rhode Island, Oregon, Sweden, the Canadian provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan, Trinidad & Tobago, and, most recently, Jamaica. Spielo is also in the process of supplying the Oregon Lottery with 2,000 VLTs. In addition, under GTECH's video lottery contract in Jamaica, Spielo will provide approximately 125 VLTs to be installed in Kingston initially, with the option by the customer to expand the number of VLTs over time. Visit the GTECH booth #49 at NASPL 2004 to see first-hand how Spielo- branded video equipment and games are providing more choices to GTECH's worldwide lottery customers.
