TULSA, Okla., March 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Global Power Equipment Group Inc. (NYSE:GEG), a leading design, engineering and fabrication firm providing a broad array of equipment and services to diversified global companies engaged in the power and process industries, today announced the appointment of Mike Hanson to Chief Accounting Officer, effective March 24, 2006. In this newly created position, Mr. Hanson will be responsible for leading and managing all accounting functions globally for Global Power. Jim Wilson, Global Power Equipment Group's vice president and chief financial officer, stated, "I am very pleased that we have someone with Mike's experience and energy to provide the leadership to ensure we maintain the highest integrity for Global Power's accounting practices. I believe every member of our senior management team is confident Mike will be very successful in this new role." Mr. Hanson joined the Company in November 2003 as corporate controller. Prior to joining Global Power, Mr. Hanson served as a financial controller at Xeta Technologies, Inc. from December 2000 to October 2003. From May 1992 to November 2000, Mr. Hanson worked as an auditor with Arthur Andersen LLP, where he was an audit manager. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Oklahoma and holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Tulsa.
