TULSA, Okla., April 11  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Global Power Equipment Group
Inc. (NYSE:GEG), a leading design, engineering and manufacturing firm providing
a broad array of equipment and services to the global energy, power
infrastructure and process industries, today completed its previously announced
acquisition of Williams Industrial Services Group (WISG), a private firm that
provides routine and specialty maintenance services to firms engaged in power
generation, pulp and paper manufacturing and to government agencies, primarily
the Department of Energy.

Beginning with the presentation of our 2005 second quarter results, financial
information relating to WISG will be reported within a new segment to be called
'Industrial Services'. The Company expects to file a Current Report on Form 8-K
providing three years of historical financial statements for the business
acquired and one year of pro forma financial information incorporating WISG in
June 2005.
