Freescale (NYSE:FSLB)
Historical Stock Chart
From Jul 2019 to Jul 2024
Freescale Semiconductor (NYSE:FSL) (NYSE:FSL.B) and Aimetis Corp. have
developed an embedded intelligent video solution that combines the
advanced capabilities of Aimetis’ VE250 video
content analysis software with the industry-leading performance of
Freescale’s MSC8144 Multicore DSP. The
embedded solution is fully supported by Aimetis’
Open IP-Surveillance software, AIRA 2005.
Designed to address the growing demand for highly sophisticated video
surveillance technology, the solution allows customers to create
optimized, multi-channel, intelligent video products that deliver
reliable, high-quality video compression, analytics, transcoding and
image processing in a single device.
By integrating with Freescale’s MSC8144 DSP,
Aimetis' VE Series video analytics can be embedded on edge devices, such
as high definition network cameras, encoders, analytics servers and
other video devices. Next generation devices using these capabilities
are expected to require less back-end hardware, bandwidth and storage
and are expected to consume less power, resulting in more scalable and
reliable video surveillance systems with lower total cost of ownership.
“Freescale’s MSC8144
DSP is a powerful and cost effective device uniquely suited to showcase
the state-of-the-art analytics capabilities of the VE250,”
said Marc Holtenhoff, chief executive officer for Aimetis Corp. “This
combined solution demonstrates the robust capabilities that our
analytics software can provide when running on a world class DSP.”
Freescale’s MSC8144 supports up to eight
standard definition video channels, with low cost and power per channel.
The quad-core device uses next-generation SC3400 StarCore technology and
features the highest signal processing speed among fully programmable
DSPs recently tested by analysis and benchmarking firm BDTI.
“Aimetis is a recognized leader in
intelligent video,” said Jeff Timbs, director
of marketing for Freescale's Digital Systems Division. “The
Freescale-Aimetis offering is expected to provide superior analytics
capability and processing efficiency to meet the increased market demand
for embedded intelligent video solutions.”
Aimetis’ VE Series provides a broad range of
intelligent video solutions for physical security and business
intelligence applications. The first product to be available on Freescale’s
MSC8144 DSP is Aimetis’ VE250, an advanced
motion tracking algorithm that requires zero configuration and performs
reliably in both indoor and outdoor environments. Typical applications
for the VE250 include perimeter breach protection, directional alarming
and other intelligent video applications. Devices integrating Freescale’s
MSC8144 also will be supported by Aimetis’
Open IP-Surveillance software, AIRA 2005.
Demonstrations of the Freescale/Aimetis solution will be available
during the ASIS International 52nd Annual Seminar & Exhibits in San
Diego from Sept. 25-28 at the Aimetis booth, number 7131.
